2. Spiritual Growth tips.
God’s armor is important because it reminds kids that they never have to face hard things alone. Even though we can’t see it, God gives us special protection that helps our hearts stay strong, our minds stay focused on what’s true, and our choices stay good. The enemy tries to confuse, distract, or discourage us, but God’s armor helps us stand firm and make wise decisions. When kids “put on” God’s armor each day—truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and God’s Word—they’re choosing to walk with God and trust Him to help them through anything that comes their way.

Parent Overview The Sword of the Spirit
Today’s lesson taught kids that the Sword of the Spirit is God’s Word, and it’s one of two offensive weapons in the Armor of God. Children learned that speaking Scripture out loud helps them defeat lies, fear, and temptation just like Jesus did. They also saw through stories and visuals how memorizing God’s Word equips them to stand strong in everyday challenges.
Parenting Tip of the Week
This week, help your child choose one verse from the lesson and practice saying it together each day. When your child faces frustration, fear, or discouragement, gently remind them to speak their verse as their “Sword of the Spirit.” Celebrate small moments when they use Scripture on their own — it builds confidence and strengthens their spiritual muscles.
